FAI World Drone Racing Championship Japanese Representatives AnnouncedWhat is drone racing?

Drone racing is a competition in which contestants compete for the fastest time by piloting a small, radio-controlled unmanned aircraft (drone) through gates and obstacles set up on a course at high speed. The drone pilots who compete use goggles or monitors to view images from the drone’s onboard camera in real time, and they control the drone while watching the images.
Unlike ordinary aerial photography drones, racing drones fly at speeds of 150 km/h or more and require acrobatic maneuvering techniques. It is a sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and genders, from teenagers to those who are over 60 years old. However, in Japan, due to the Radio Law, Civil Aeronautics Law, and other laws, there are fewer new entrants than in other countries, and the general public is not yet aware of drone racing.
